Another Boomer First: Divorces

Statistics reported by the National Center for Family & Marriage Research at Bowling Green State University illustrate that, even though the overall divorce rate in the U.S. has dropped during the past 20 years, the divorce rate among people aged 50 and over has doubled. Also, a shift, wives are primarily initiating the divorce 22 percent of the time.  Just go back a few years ago….it was a defining moment for boomers… former vice president and wife tipper gore….after 40 years of marriage…. an example of the modern day trend: divorce.   In a survey conducted by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), during the past five years, 61 percent of divorce lawyers in the U.S. indicate an increase in the number of divorce cases among couples over 50-years of age.  I talked to Georgia Chapter President attorney Robert D.
