MYSILVERAGE COACHELLA VALLEY
By mid-September, many seniors have started planning their annual trek to warmer locales for the winter. These “snowbirds” make the trip for many reasons, including arthritis relief, golfing opportunities, a simple desire for more sunshine or a change of scenery—and their numbers are growing.

A study from the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research revealed Florida alone gains an additional million people each winter, thanks to this migration trend. But Florida is not the only destination for snowbirds.

Locations include:
• South Padre Island, Texas
Active seniors enjoy the great weather, scenic beaches, bird watching, fishing and boating in this peaceful coastal community.
• Coachella Valley, Calif.
Bordered by the Salton Sea and three mountain ranges, Coachella Valley is home to more than 110 golf courses in Southern California.
