The Survive and Thrive Boomer GuideFood, health, housing, and personal growth are topics capturing the attention of baby boomer bloggers this week

I’m the host for this week’s Best of Boomer Blogs #370.

The fantastic weather in the Seattle area continues, and my garden is producing wonderful vegetables.

But, what I write about this week on my blog are the surprises I’m finding my garden. Mostly nice, but one scary.

For Tom Sightings of Sightings From Sixty, what interests him as summer draws to a close are anti-aging tips. Tom found some from a neurosurgeon, Joseph C. Maroon, M.D., which focus on exercise. He discovered another approach from journalist Dan Buettner, which is based more on taking it easy and enjoying life. Find out which approach Tom prefers – and which might be better for you – at his latest article “Anti-Aging Tips.”

Laura Lee Carter of the Midlife Crisis Queen, on the other hand, is focusing on housing. Carter says that she’s has been through the wringer in the past six months following her retirement dreams with her midlife husband. Only one hurdle left, building a new home in the foothills together.

Like me, Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting is writing about one of her favorite topics – food. A newspaper article about McDonald’s attempts to improve their menu offerings spurred Meryl’s long-dormant fast food taste buds. She didn’t actually eat any fast food or cross the threshold of her local McDonald’s, but wonders about the possibility of this iconic junk food giant offering healthy fare in her article “Kudos (Maybe Someday) to McDonald’s.”
